At the heart of integrative medicine, the Foundation is committed to improve patient care with aromatherapy as a complementary treatment.
The Foundation encourages research by understanding the mechanims of action of essential oils and by improving the quality of clinical studies. It also supports and promotes Aromatherapy as a complementary treatment by facilitating the use of aromatherapy and recognising/sharing innovative pratices.
Clinical aromatherapy consists of using essential oils for their tranquillising, analgesic and antiseptic properties, to complement conventional treatments, as part of the patient care pathway. This therapeutic complementarity provides better support for the patient to reduce certain clinical symptoms related to the disease (anxiety, pain) or to limit certain side effects related to drugs (nausea, insomnia).
Aromatherapy based on essential oils, high concentration natural products, is very useful as a complementary therapy. However, its use implies in-depth knowledge of essential oils and perfect mastery of their potential effects in patients undergoing several concomitant treatments
