With a degree in scientific aromatherapy from the University of Dijon, pharmacist Magali Dhumes leads the Arom’Accord project at the Clos Montaigne clinic in Montrond-les-bains. The clinic, specialized in mental health, receives 80 patients who are hospitalized for about a month, mainly for anxiety-depressive disorders.
The establishment offers non-drug therapies that they combine with aromatherapy to reduce their patients’ anxiety, such as :
- Balneotherapy
- Light therapy
- Relaxation
- Hypnosis
With the assistance of a psychologist, they have created a workshop to provide patients with an olfactory sensory experience with essential oils.
The grant will finance the training of 12 health professionals to strengthen the initial team, as well as equipment to develop protocols for addiction and sleep.
